Covidien is a large global healthcare company and is a leading manufacturer of medical devices, supplies, diagnostic imaging agents and pharmaceuticals. It has 42,000 employed worldwide in more that 60 countries and sells products in over 140 countries.

The Asian branch of Covidien approached ICM Events to run their incentive program to Queenstown in March/April 2011. They had run their first incentive program in Queenstown in 2010 and enjoyed it so much that they decided to return for a second year.

The 50 strong group were from a variety of countries across Asia including Singapore, China, Korea, Indian, and Thailand and included Covidien employees and their partners. Queenstown Event Management was tasked with compiling a program consisting of 3 morning group activities, 1 morning of optional activities and 5 dining nights.

ICM Event Management compiled a program that would showcase Queenstown in a fun and interactive way and enable all members of the group to access new and exciting experiences during their 5-day visit. The emphasis was to offer activities that attendees would never have experienced before that would truly depict Queenstown as the adventure capital of the world.

For dinner events we included some of the iconic venues that Queenstown is so well known for as well focusing on providing the group with a private and personalised experience.

With a number of the group being unable to speak/understand English, we contracted both a Chinese and Korean translator to accompany the group throughout their stay.

On arrival guests were personally greeted at the airport and transferred by private vehicles to Millbrook Resort. Located on the outskirts of Arrowtown just 20 minutes from Queenstown and set in expansive grounds this resort is a truly luxurious experience when visiting Queenstown and provided a serene and picturesque location for the group’s stay.

The Covidien group left Queenstown reluctantly. They were all in awe of the scenery and energy of this stunning town. During their stay they had all tested their boundaries and left feeling a sense of accomplishment and inspired to achieve again for next year.

The program ran without a hitch and the weather was bright and clear throughout the entire week.

Covidien couldn’t praise the ICM Event Management team enough for their dedication and ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude throughout the week. They were so impressed that they are looking to return to Queenstown again for their third incentive year and use QT Events to prepare their program again.
